It is hard work to raise a child.
Lily Orphanage has responsibility for over 100 orphans, mostly HIV affected. For the first time, a generation of orphans will be aging out of the orphanage because they are surviving HiV. Rather than solely rescue, Lily Orphanage is committed to raising and providing life skills for these beautiful children to lead independent lives. The orphanage currently has classrooms up to Grade 3 and now a 9th grade classroom has been added to ensure the teenagers have a future when they age out of the orphanage.

These orphans will likely not be adopted but we hope each will have someone to sponsor them. Besides contributing to their educational needs this year, you'd be establishing a relationship with a vulnerable child. We can't recommend it enough. We witnessed the impact of our letters and financial support on the World Vision children we have sponsored across 9 years. The financial contributions address real needs but the relationship established was so appreciated by these children. They felt their lives were important and that someone cared about their future.

Our family chose to sponsor children who were the same age as our own but had such different life circumstances. Our children gained sensitivity and an awareness of the unfairness of life from the correspondence and relationship with their sponsored children.

Support-A-Child's Education for One-Year
You can make a difference! Sponsor a child for one year by making a donation directed to the educational needs of the Lily orphans. Although it costs $125 a month ($1,500 a year ) to educate a child at Lily Orphanage, donations of any amount are appreciated. Donations will be directed to educational expenses including building the classrooms, hiring the teachers, school supplies, uniforms and life skills such as farming, sewing and other trade skills. Once you select a child, you'll immediately receive details regarding him/her, and you can elect to correspond with the child if you wish. Further, the child will also correspond with you through letters. Every summer a team of volunteers from NY/CT will followup with the children and share the impact of your donations, and you can even join these groups to go visit your child should you wish to do so! Through Tabgha Love Foundation, our family covers all operating expenses so that we can ensure that donations go 100% to the children of Lily Orphanage.
